What a privileged it was to volunteer with Arts Corps as they revive the murals at Aki Kurose Middle school in Seattle, WA. I spent most of the day doing detail work on several murals and meeting wonderful volunteers who wanted to make an impact at this local school. Together we revived or created 19 murals. The murals are just beautiful, I am sure the students will love them!
Changing direction can be difficult. Especially when you know it is happening, but you are not sure exactly were you are going. The opportunity arose to apply to be a cohort member of the Teaching Artist Training Lab, I did, and was accepted! The new direction started taking shape. This program has left me renewed, full of ideas, and confident that wherever I am going is just right. I have met the most wonderful Teaching Artists. Refining my teaching skills has encouraged me to move forward and share my love of fine craft and visual art with new students, in new ways. I am so thankful to have met such an inspiring group of people that are all dedicated to the field of Teaching Artistry. This is most definitely the right direction.
